Jeremiah 29:12

"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Prayer is the foundation of everything we do. When we pray we are letting God know that we are putting everything in his hands and trust that He will show up in every aspect of our lives and those around us."

Prayer is not some fancy way of speaking to God, it's a simple way for us to work things out and strengthen what is weak. It's what allows us to create an intimate relationship with God.

We can be hopeful that our prayers go to a God who hears us and wants us to be a part of His plan. We pray in confidence knowing that as we pour out what's in our heart to God, He pours outs his heart to us.

There are no levels to prayer. We all can enter prayer with a posture of trust, openness, and faith, believing that God can do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. It’s not about our circumstance, it’s about God's faithfulness to His people.

PRAYER:

1. PRAYER SHARPENS OUR FAITH

2. PRAYER IS A PROCESS OF EXCHANGE

3. PRAYER CREATES A DEEPER INTIMACY WITH GOD

Fasting is intentionally abstaining from food for spiritual purposes. It is an ancient practice and a spiritual discipline, the purpose of which is training you to be more like Jesus. The reason we fast is to bring us into a deeper and powerful relationship with Jesus, allowing us to draw closer to the heart of God.

We fast because we want to break the power of the flesh of our life - our desires, sins, and cravings - and to feed on the Holy Spirit. Fasting allows us to seek God's divine intervention in events of our physical world and allow revelation through the Holy Spirit to bring about change and transformation.

Fasting allow us to change our perspective from what can I get from God to getting closer to God. ‍

There are different types of fasting, and we recommend prayerfully considering which practice is best for you at this time.

1. FASTING ALLOWS US TO SEEK ANSWERS FROM GOD

2. FASTING ALLOWS US TO BREAK THE POWER OF THE FLESH IN OUR LIFE

3. FASTING ALLOWS FOR BREAKTHROUGH

LIQUID FAST: Consuming Only Liquids For A Specific Period Of Time

PARTIAL FAST: Abstaining From Specific Kinds Of Food. For Example: Daniel Fast

TV/SOCIAL MEDIA: Choosing To Abstain From Certain Technologies For A Specific Period Of Time

1. Make A Plan. Set Your Heart

What fast are you going to do?

What are you eliminating from your life?

2. Prepare to Make the Most of the Time

Fasting isn’t just about removing and eliminating, it’s putting some stuff on the back burner so we can bring other stuff to the forefront.

How are you going to fill your week with seeking God and staying Jesus focused?
